Course aim
To provide practitioners with a clear overview of the new Ofsted inspection handbook including the changes made and how these will be reflected in the inspection process

Target group - Setting managers, deputy managers, third in charges, Committee Chairs, Setting Owners or Directors and any other staff wishing to develop their understanding of the new Ofsted ‘Early Years Inspection Handbook’
Pre-course Information

By the end of the briefing participants will be able to:·

  • Summarise the main changes in the new inspection handbook·

  • Explain what has remained the same in the new inspection handbook·

  • Confidently discuss the terms ‘Intent’, ‘Implement’ and ‘Impact’ in relation to the quality of education, curriculum and level of challenge·

  • Explain the meaning of the term ‘cultural capital’ and its importance in the new inspection handbook, particularly in relation to disadvantaged children
