To support practitioners to deliver high quality provision for two year olds and their families. To narrow the gap for disadvantaged two year olds.

Pre-course Information

By the end of training participants will be able to:

  • Apply child development theory to their practice with two year olds

  • Develop their understanding of attachment theory and the concepts of wellbeing and involvement and its effect on neurological development

  • Reflect on the meaning of vulnerability and identify ways that ensures their services reach the most vulnerable two year olds in the community.

  • Define and understand the importance of the home learning environment and consider strategies for working with disadvantaged two year olds

  • Use the Local Authority audit document to evaluate their provision for two year olds whilst considering what high quality looks like and plan actions for their own practice.
